Field Service Engineer  - France

This position is field based in France.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all SMS DVS Instruments in assigned territory

  • Basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair on all SMS Instruments

  • Maintaining tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated

  • Provide timely and detailed feedback on technology performance, reliability, serviceability, service quality and design issues back to Line Manager

  • Assist other Field Service Engineers (FSE) out of territory when needed and work load permits

  • Meeting Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements

  • Develop a close working relationship with the customer to provide assistance and guidance towards developing an action plan for additional SMS sales (Service Maintenance Contracts, Upgrades, Scientific Services, or new equipment)
  • Work with sales in identifying new Instrument prospects and provide technical support during pre and post sales activity. 
  • Review of SMS Instruments operational function with the customer to meet training obligations during installations

  • Provide prompt resolution to hardware and software problems to ensure customer uptime and satisfaction

  • Installs software, hardware and executes performance analysis as needed for SMS Instruments

  • Escalations: Initiate and follow all issues using the company escalation processes and to keep the customer and line manager informed as to the status of the escalation

  • Document all SMS service activities on a daily basis and maintain customer issues lists (to include, Stock management service visit reporting and contract level agreements as per KPI targets set)

  • Negotiate satisfactory resolution to end-users at multiple levels (technicians, scientist’s and all levels of management)

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy to understand manner


Must Have

  • An associate’s degree (2-year degree) in electronics or electronics engineering minimum 5 years experience

  • Proficient level of computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

  • Able to communicate in English
  • Being able to work alone or with a team

  • Interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated

  • Valid driving license

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment

  • Decision making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills

  • Previous experience working in a scientific background
  • Full valid permit to work in France
