Welcome to the Sorption Symposium North America 2024, a meeting place for the brightest minds in the field of sorption science. We are thrilled to host this in-person symposium, bringing together scientists from both academic and professional laboratory backgrounds to create a melting pot of ideas and innovations. This event will focus on the Dynamic Vapor Sorption (DVS) and Inverse Gas Chromatography (iGC) techniques, as well as spotlighting recent innovations in Breakthrough Analysis, and explore the recent leaps and bounds being made in sorption science and its applications.

  • Day One & Two (May 7-8th, 2024) - CIMSEPP, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ
  • Day Three (May 9th, 2024) - Surface Measurement Systems NA, Allentown, PA (Hands-on Training attendees only)

The program will feature a range of oral and poster sessions, curated to cover a wide spectrum of topics. These include but are not limited to pharmaceuticals, carbon capture technology, the study of porous materials, surface energy analysis, fuel cell technology, and sustainability. Each session is designed to provoke thought, stimulate discussion, and enable delegates to delve deeply into both the theoretical and practical aspects of these subjects. We are excited to showcase the latest research, developments, and case studies, providing a comprehensive view of the current state and future potential of sorption science.

Beyond academic discussions, this symposium offers unique networking and collaboration opportunities. Our expert-led hands-on workshops will enhance your technical skills, while social events provide a relaxed setting for building lasting professional relationships and rewarding scientific collaborations.

This event is a place for sorption scientists to come together, share their expertise and findings, and forge last connections in the materials science community. 

The program will be dedicated to three core techniques in advanced materials characterization; Dynamic Vapor Sorption (DVS), Inverse Gas Chromatography (iGC), and Breakthrough Analysis (BTA). The program will explore  key applications across a range of industries employing these techniques, showcasing real-world case studies and the latest findings in a mix of oral and poster sessions, all delivered by world-leading experts.

May 9th - Hands-on Training Day at Surface Measurement Systems NA, Allentown, PA

Day 3 of the event will move things over to Surface Measurement Systems NA Headquarters in Allentown, PA for a day of in-depth training and hands-on workshops. Gain valuable expertise from leading global sorption scientists on advanced gravimetric sorption analyzers and iGC instruments.
